Although, you can use both steinernematid and heterorhabditid nematodes to manage target pests directly in the field, it is always recommended to test the efficacy of nematodes against a particular target insect under laboratory conditions. First try to obtain culture of these nematodes from their original source, culture them on wax moth or tenebrio larvae and test their efficacy against insect pests of your interest.
